Once Upon Today — Your Child's Day, Their Bedtime Story
About Us
A small team with one wish: calmer bedtimes and children who feel heard
Our Family's Story
I've always loved reading, and now my son loves it too. Our favourite part of the evening is talking about our day: what made us smile, what felt hard and what we're thankful for
Those chats became little stories that help us understand our feelings and grow a bit wiser about our emotions together. Once Upon Today shares that same quiet moment with every family
Our Mission
Every child's day holds a story — a highlight worth celebrating, a wobble worth understanding, a small brave moment worth remembering. Once Upon Today takes what your child tells you about their day and weaves it into a gentle bedtime adventure, where an animal hero faces the same feelings and makes the same choices
No villains, no scary parts, no shame. Just a story that helps your child reflect on their day, drift off feeling understood and wake up ready to try again
How a Story Is Made
- 1Talk About TodayAsk your child about a highlight, a struggle or something they overcame
- 2Reflect GentlyIf the day was hard, they imagine what they might do differently or how they wish it had gone
- 3Weave the StoryChoose an animal hero, a place and a feeling — we turn today into a bedtime tale
- 4Read TogetherPage by page, narrated softly, with a choose-what-happens-next path that winds down to sleep
How We Create Our Story Packs
- We start with the questions we ask our own children at bedtime
- Each page is designed to be printed at home and filled in together
- Every story stays gentle, with no villains and no scary parts
- We test each pack at our own bedtimes before sharing it
The Team
Lotty Coy
Founder
Once Upon Today began at bedtime, with the same question every parent knows: how was your day? It started as a way to help one family wind down — and grew into a story ritual any family can share
